Why language learning is great

Do you enjoy sharing a special skill you have?
Do you enjoy learning with people that are exceptionally good what they do?

Imagine a world in which every person on earth is a word class professional in a particular field. You might be a violinist. You're so good, that even if a non-violinist practiced diligently for decades, they'll probably never truly reach your level. Now let's say your interested in improving your swimming skills, or learning chess, or getting into skateboarding. In this world, you probably can find a few dozen Michael Phelps‘ in your city, then there's this whole community of Kasparovs that live downtown, and your neighbor is Tony Hawk, who would be thrilled to take you to the monthly skater meetup he goes to.
This is the world of language learning. You're a word class expert in speaking your mother tongue. And if you study a new language, there's a good chance you can find a native speaker to practice with. A study partner that is so proficient, you'll never truly be able to reach their level.

A thing I particularly enjoy about this world, is that your study buddy can be a person from any kind of background.
